Journal: Today, we will go through the Released 2014 Fall Exam that you took yesterday. Log on to Socrative.
To help review tomorrow, what I want you to do is create the questions for a review game. You and a partner will create 10 Jeopardy style questions for review next week. You will be assigned a category and your questions must all deal with that category. You may use any and all resources you have at your disposal including, but not limited to: the text book, Study Island, the Google, maybe even a real book! The possibilities are endless. Use this Template for your questions. You can email this to me at [email protected].

That on the first day of January, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty-three, all persons held as slaves within any State or designated part of a State, the people whereof shall then be in rebellion against the United States, shall be then, thenceforward, and forever free; and the Executive Government of the United States, including the military and naval authority thereof, will recognize and maintain the freedom of such persons, and will do no act or acts to repress such persons, or any of them, in any efforts they may make for their actual freedom. Abraham Lincoln, A Proclamation, January 1, 1863 Why is the issuance of Lincoln′s Emancipation Proclamation a turning point in American history? Use one statement from the text as evidence to support your answer. Taking Notes on Reconstruction: After that, we will go through the 2013 released American History I Exam. Log on to Socrative. Journal: Read the excerpt and answer the bolded question(s) completely. Taken from the Released 2013 Exam
The great rule of conduct for us in regard to foreign nations is in extending our commercial relations, to have with them as little political connection as possible. So far as we have already formed engagements, let them be fulfilled with perfect good faith. Here let us stop. Europe has a set of primary interests which to us have none; or a very remote relation. Hence she must be engaged in frequent controversies, the causes of which are essentially foreign to our concerns. Hence, therefore, it must be unwise in us to implicate ourselves by artificial ties in the ordinary vicissitudes of her politics, or the ordinary combinations and collisions of her friendships or enmities. Why forego the advantages of so peculiar a situation? Why quit our own to stand upon foreign ground? Why, by interweaving our destiny with that of any part of Europe, entangle our peace and prosperity in the toils of European ambition, rivalship, interest, humor or caprice? George Washington, Farewell Address, 1796 Why did President Washington advocate a foreign policy of neutrality for the United States? Explain Washington′s preference by providing one economic reason and one political reason. Today we will be reviewing the highlights of the Civil War. You will use these questions to guide your notes. After that, we will go through the 2013 released American History I Exam. Log on to Socrative. No journal.
